Test cricket is the only format on this site in which a match can finish with nobody ahead, and the table below shows how much of the record that absorbs: across the ten sides in it, 334 of 1,756 results were draws, about 19 in every 100. Win percentage is compressed as a result — the strongest mark in the Test table is Australia on 56.6%, where the same side reaches 61.8% over 50 overs.

What the run list is actually measuring

The run list rewards volume as much as class: the twenty leading scorers have batted between 151 and 304 innings each, and six of them hold an average of 50 or better; the full spread runs from 34.97 to 61.07. Scoring rates sit between 41.9 and 70 runs per 100 balls, with DA Warner the quickest of them, and BA Stokes has hit 138 sixes, more than anyone else on the list.

Bowling loads and economy
